On the ground: summer living in the midst of a garden covered by Atlantic species which blurs the separation between inside and outside and between the different lots, producing a continuous dense mattress into which 22 houses are camouflaged. On top: winter living frames the distant views of the Picos de Europa mountain range inside protected gabled simple volumes.
This double framing of close and distant references, of exuberant garden vs. geological silhouettes, is literally translated into a hybrid type made up by stacking solid and typologically timeless “house-shaped pieces” on top of prototypically “modern” open-plan transparent one-storey spaces. Thus combining complementary dwelling paradigms and opposed spatial experiences into a single whole.
